Every Player Deserves Their Moment at the Plate

Special Swings of Plant City is bringing our community together for a one-of-a-kind day of baseball, encouragement, and inclusion on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Plant City Stadium.

Special Swings is an inclusive baseball experience created for children and young adults with special needs, ages 8–21. No previous baseball experience is required. Whether a player has played before or is stepping onto a baseball field for the very first time, our goal is simple: give them an unforgettable opportunity to put on a uniform, take the field, swing the bat, round the bases, and hear a stadium full of people cheering them on.

Every registered player will be paired with a volunteer buddy who will stay alongside them to provide encouragement, assistance, and support throughout the baseball experience. Local baseball players, coaches, volunteers, businesses, first responders, community organizations, and families are all coming together to make the day special.

The event will feature multiple teams and two inclusive baseball games, player introductions, opening ceremonies, warm-ups, mascots and special guests, medals and player recognition, food and refreshments, family activities, and plenty of opportunities for the community to cheer on our athletes.

But Special Swings is about much more than baseball.

It is about confidence, friendship, teamwork, belonging, and giving every player the opportunity to experience the excitement of being part of a team. For one day, the scoreboard takes a back seat. The victories are every swing, every smile, every run around the bases, and every player hearing their name called while friends, family, and the community cheer them on.
